If you were here in Southern Colorado, and you looked out the window, you would never guess that we’re supposed to get a snow storm tonight. It’s nearly sixty degrees today and I love it. So I celebrated this reminder that spring is coming by going to Panera bread for lunch. Now we’re on a pretty tight budget, but today was a Fuji Apple Salad day, so that’s what I ordered. I took it, and the latest issue of Glamour (another guilty pleasure), to the table closest to the window (I wanted to sit outside, but the table are in the shade, and it’s not quite that warm) and spent the next half hour thoroughly enjoying myself.
On my drive back to work everyone around me seemed to be basking in the warmth too, including the middle aged man leaning up against a retaining wall on the corner of Circle and Janitell. He was shirtless, grinning and when I finally noticed him he winked at me. It was like he was shouting “Summer’s comin’, ladies!” at the top of his lungs. It made me laugh.
I’m trying to ignore the impending blizzard, but I won’t put my boots away yet. However, my flip flops are always ready to go too. : )
