Merry Christmas from the Land of Palm Trees! What a year! Covid-19 walked into 2020 like an uninvited party crasher, smashing the cake, tipping over the punch bowl and holding everyone hostage indoors. In the effort to slow its spread, school was suspended, and businesses were shut down, pulling the emergency brake on the speeding train of what had been a roaring economy. And all this in a presidential election year! But rather than grinding to a halt, the world kept turning, as it will. A major event in our life was the move from Leander, Texas, to Sanford, Florida, just as self-quarantining became a thing. But by God’s grace, Steve has gotten organized in his office in the Ethnos360 Home Office building, continuing to translate resource materials for Latin American missionaries and now being called on regularly to interpret for international video conferences. And the Lord has brought Eida some students with reading challenges whom she is blessing with Barton system tutoring. Due to Covid and other circumstances, this has not been a good year for getting together with family. We haven’t been able to get out to California to see our parents for a long time. Canada has closed its borders, preventing us from getting up to Nova Scotia to see Esther & Curtis and our rapidly growing Canadian grandchildren: Natalie, Reuben, Kaylie and Kegan. And our move to Florida has sadly distanced us from Art & Marlene and little Kaylene, who is loving kindergarten. Since no Christmas letter is complete without some pictures, here are a few… Steve’s office in the Home Office building Eida’s tutoring table at home We treasure your friendship and are very grateful for your partnership with us in this ministry of equipping Latin American cross-cultural church planters. May the Lord bless and keep you and give you a joyful celebration of the birth of our Savior! In His boundless love, Steve & Eida Irwin Ethnos360.org – Spanish Language Resources |
