We’re very sorry to have to inform you that Betsaida Castillo succumbed to a fatal infection. Because of her faith in Christ, we have every confidence that she is now at Home with the Lord, reunited with her baby who preceded her.
I’m sure we can all imagine what a devastating blow this must be to her husband, Isaí (Ee’sah’ee) Castillo, losing his young wife and baby so suddenly. Thank you for upholding him in prayer, as well as the extended family.
Some have asked if they could help with medical and end-of-life expenses. If you’d like instructions, please reply to this email.
Please keep praying for Marco & Salomé Herrera
The Herreras are the Bolivian missionary trainees we mentioned in our last letter. We have learned since that they are not training in their home country, but in our Missions Institute in Colombia. He was hospitalized a couple of days ago with Covid.
Salomé reports that Marco is stable and responding very well to antibiotics! His oxygen saturation level is 94% and improving (normal is between 96% and 98%). Once he’s off oxygen, he will be released so he can finish his recovery at home with continued medication.
Salomé herself is experiencing some discomfort in her chest, but the doctor advised her not to come in to the hospital. She asks prayer to recover sufficient strength to attend to Marco when he comes home. Thank you for your prayer support. In many situations we don’t understand what God is doing, but we know that He loves us and is working everything together for His glory and our ultimate good. Circumstances like these require faith and trust in Him.
In His love and sustaining grace,
