There are up and downs here, just like everywhere.
In my last update, I shared with you the many things I was (and am) thankful for. How quickly I forget those things when I go through a rough patch! Pray for a consistent awareness of God’s faithfulness and goodness in my life (and yours!).
I’ve been studying Job as one of the EBI (Ethnos360 Bible Institute) classes I’m watching online. Despite losing his wealth, his children, his reputation and his health, Job does not doubt or turn against God. He questions God in his suffering, but after God reveals His power and sovereignty to Job in chapters 38-41, Job sees God as worthy of worship regardless of his circumstances. Job never fully understands why God has allowed these things to happen to him, but he didn’t need to. He allowed God to be God and was able to see Him with humility and awe. I want to be able to come through any rough patch of circumstances and disappointments like Job— worshiping God, in awe of His sovereignty and might; trusting Him instead of being discouraged or disappointed. But, we’re all works in progress, right?
Be in awe of God as you study the graphic below and see all that He has been doing throughout New Tribes Mission in Papua New Guinea this past year. I created the graphic for our team to be able to share with churches and supporters. Click on the image to see the larger PDF file.
