Before leaving on a long trip (and I consider moving to West Africa for 20 years or so a long trip, even though I will be coming home every few years), it’s good to see old friends. So that’s exactly what I did this last month – I took a plane to Boston, and then by being on the road in cars, buses, and trains, made it all the way from Maine to Florida over the course of 3 weeks. I got to spend time with 7 different friends or groups of friends whom I haven’t seen for a while. I also got to be a bit of a tourist along the way and share with many different people more about the plans that God has for my future. Thank you everyone I spent time with for your great hospitality!!
Then, 37 hours after returning home, my family and I headed up north (which, for those of you not from Wisconsin, means northern Wisconsin. It’s a very specific term, since you know you’ve arrived when the t-shirts at the tourist shops say “Up North.”). We had a fun and relaxing week at a cabin by a lake for a week.
Thanks so much for continuing to pray for me as I continue to journey towards West Africa to live and work with an unreached people group who needs to hear the gospel!
