Today I had a new first, and something that I don’t think would happen in many places around the world. On my way home from buying vegetables at the market, I stopped to look at some plates. There was a girl working at the little shop selling them, and she said that her mom was out running an errand and would be back in a bit. I asked her how much the plates were, and she said 40 cents each, and that that wasn’t a debatable price. I liked them, so I bought all 6 of them that she had – $2.40. I kept walking on my way home, happy with my new plates. Partway home, someone on a moto stopped and said hi, and, long story short, it was the girl’s mom who also happens to be one of our neighbors. She had seen how much money the girl had gotten for the plates and knew that it was too much. Instead of being 40 cents each, the plates were supposed to be sold at 30 cents each. So she had taken off on her moto, met me along the way, and returned my change to me. Amazing!
