Yup, that picture above is going to be me in a few days! After I finish packing my suitcase and taking care of a few more odds and ends, I’ll be off. Thanks for all your prayers for my plans – this week I have been able to buy airplane tickets, get some security stuff ready, etc. All in all, I believe that I have 11 flights booked for the next two months – 11 legs, with ultimate destinations in 4 countries on 3 continents, not to mention the US. If all goes according to plan, I should go all the way around the globe! A quick calculation of my route makes it look like I may be going approximately 26,000 miles before I arrive back in Wisconsin. (For those of you who are curious, the circumference of the globe is only 24,901 miles.)
Needless to say, I’ll need your prayers for protection on all levels, wisdom, sleep, health, good connections, and that God will be glorified through it all. I may try to send out e-mail updates or blog posts along the way, but we’ll see how much internet, energy, sleep, and time I’ll have. 🙂 Also, know that if you try e-mailing me, I will probably be able to read it but may not be able to reply right away.
I look forward to telling you where I’ve been when I get back and can share that information. But know that a lot of the trip is for stuff related to linguistics – helping others with their language and learning how to do that better.
