Ebola is big on the news these days, and I’m sure that you continue to hear of it in conjunction with West Africa. But rest assured that, as far as we know, it hasn’t arrived in My Country yet. There has, however, been education about it, so that if/when it comes it should hopefully be dealt with more like they did in other West African countries, where there were just a few cases and then it was done.
When I arrived in the airport from the US (and directly from Belgium), they took all of our temperatures. There were signs about ebola all around the airport, as well as at the bus station. When I got back home there was a special on it on tv. The other day one of my friends showed me a new greeting that she saw on tv – the “ebola greeting.” Instead of shaking hands, where you could pass germs, you don’t touch.
So no, no ebola yet. And yes, preventative and education measures are in place. But I still appreciate your prayers for the epidemic and that it won’t come here. Thanks!
