It is finally sinking in! Up until this point, the thought of moving to New Guinea has been a distant one. It has for so long existed in the “someday” category of our minds. Now, reality has put it’s foot down, we are leaving in four measly months! Why is it sinking in now? We are working on purchasing and gathering all the stuff we will use in PNG, things like sunscreen, tools, kitchenware, bedding and much more. Every day another item is added to our list and as this happens, we are reminded that we are actually leaving! The further we dive into collecting everything, the bigger the task becomes.
So once everything is gathered, what happens to it? Ah, the question we ourselves have been attempting to figure out. The first thing will be building crates to transport our goods. These crates cannot be made with dimensional lumber and cannot exceed 4’x4’x7’. We will not know how big or how many crates will be needed until our pile of stuff is complete. These crates will then have to be transported to Global Ministry Supply located in Pennsylvania. There they will be loaded on a container and shipped to New Guinea, which could take around three months.
In this time of researching, finding and purchasing supplies we are still looking to the Lord to provide the remaining $600.00 of monthly support needed to reach our required minimum. If you have not already, would you consider being a part of this amazing stewardship the Lord has given the church. To bring the gospel to the ends of the earth! If so, check out how at ntm.org/taylor-goheen/give.
