Terry and Lori Hyde have been missionaries with New Tribes Mission for 21 years. After a two-year training program, they served for 11 years in Panama as part of a support team for missionaries in tribal areas. In 2003 they returned to the US and served as representatives of NTM in San Antonio, Texas. In 2009 they joined the Community Development Team of NTM-Mexico. The purpose of the Community Development team is to promote the activities of NTM Mexico that will improve the spiritual, social, intellectual, economic, and physical condition of people in all of the communities where our missionaries work. The Hyde’s job is to help research, promote, and expedite these community development projects. Terry and Lori would like to act as a liaison between you and the ministry team in Mexico, keeping you informed and raising funds for various economic development projects in remote areas of Mexico.
Family
Terry and Lori Hyde are originally from the West Coast, but now make their home in the little town of Schertz, Texas, just north of San Antonio. They have three kids, Ryan, 25, Jennifer, 23, and Kaitlin, 18. In their spare time, Lori volunteers at Options for Women, a crisis pregnancy center, and Terry ministers as a deacon at Fellowship Bible Church.
Ryan lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is a troubleshooter for Zoll Lifecor, helping to save lives as he keeps his client’s defibrillator vests functioning. He spends his free time with his son, Corin, who is growing into a sweet little boy.
Jennifer graduated from Pensacola Christian College in December with her B.S. in Biology and plans to attend a Physician Assistant program next year. In the meantime, she is working at Comal Family Practice in New Braunfels and just bought her first car.
Kaitlin is graduating from high school on May 8, 2010, and is planning to stay home for a year while she explores career options. Right now, she works at Whataburger, takes voice lessons and karate, and spends time with her horse, Scarlet.
