Aching in April 2011

April 6, 2011 by Theo and Martha Enns

Aching for Côte d’Ivoire!

Côte d'Ivoire in west Africa.            With fighting escalating in our former home town, Abidjan (as of April 4th) we just ache for all the hurting people of Ivory Coast. They are experiencing terrible disruptions (lack of food, gasoline, means to work, lootings, burnings, and worse) because of the rival and tribal fighting and killings. We certainly are praying for those in authority, so that the people can live peaceful and quiet lives, since God desires that all people be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (2 Tim.2.2-4.) There are at least 25 language groups in Côte d’Ivoire alone that still have not heard the Good News in their own language.

I am working every day on revising the old Bible lessons for Haiti, for their grade one classes next school year. Meanwhile, the NTM revision of the Firm Foundation Children’s School Curriculum is also being worked on in Florida. These latter lessons are to become the on-going Bible curriculum that Martha and I plan to take to Haiti next year, for translating into French. But before we can move to Florida to work full-time on this project, we need to sell our house here in Alabama. We have had several potential buyers, but have not been able to finalize the sale, yet.  We do praise the Lord for the frequent part-time work as substitute teacher at the local public school, working on the Bible lesson in between, and in the evenings.

PRAISE:

1- My part-time work at the local public school, and times to work on the Haiti Bible lessons for grade one.

2- Martha’s parents’ house is in the final stages of the sale, to be closed this month, Lord willing.

3- God is still working on us, giving us His perspective in being faithful and content as we wait for His green light to move on.

PRAY:

1- For the right buyer for our house, since we can’t rent in Florida while we still have payments here in Alabama.

2- For peace to be established in Côte d’Ivoire, for safety & provisions for God’s children there, and for missionaries to be able to return to reach the lost.

3- For us not to get frustrated where doors are NOT open, and to take opportunities to serve Him where doors ARE open.

Till He comes for His completed Bride,

Theo & Martha Enns
