AHH! in July 2011

July 12, 2011 by Theo and Martha Enns

Here’s what I remember when I say AHH!

editing Haiti Bible lessons
editing Haiti Bible lessons

A – reminds me of Africa, where our co-workers have returned for the summer again, working on Bible translation into the Palaka language, and encouraging the fledgling native church. They are also teaching them some computer skills to help in the Bible translation process which the missionaries have to work on from afar.

H – reminds me of Haiti, where there are at least 330 grade one classrooms of children who need Bible lessons printed and ready for when school starts next Fall. Unfortunately we are still working through a couple more cycles of editing and proof-reading that need to be done in the next few weeks.

H – also reminds me of our Home, which hasn’t sold yet, so we still can’t move on.  (But I have been able to work here on the Haiti Bible lessons, while we wait.)

! – reminds me of Praise! At church today a soloist sang a song acknowledging our need of the Lord to intervene, with our hands raised up  – in praise! So although we don’t know why we have to wait before moving on, we are learning to rejoice: that He is in control, and that by His grace we can serve Him in the interim.

 PRAISE God with us:

1- For the Palaka church that is getting closer to having the Word of God in their own language.

2- For the Baptist Haiti Mission schools that are getting foundational Bible lessons started in their schools.

3- For health and technical means (Internet & e-mail) that are allowing us to develop this curriculum, even from afar.

 PRAY with us:

1- For safety in uncertain environments for the missionaries in several African nations, as they seek to translate the Bible for unreached tribes.

2- For careful and insightful proof-reading & final printer-ready preparation of the grade one Bible lessons for Haiti to be finished on time.

3- For us to be able to move to Florida soon to be more actively involved in seeing the Firm Foundation Children’s School Curriculum project make good headway.

 Asking with thanksgiving,
