10, 9, 8, 7 … « Dix, neuf, huit, sept, … »
I find my days filled with editing, proof-reading and multiple minute details, as the countdown for preparing these grade one Bible lessons for Haiti is upon us. Their schools start October 3rd, and all of the final checking hasn’t been completed yet. The first main French language check is almost finished, but there’s still the Creole checking, final proof-reading, and then printer-ready lay-out to be done. Simultaneously, the NTM Firm Foundation home-school curriculum is being developed, and we were scheduled to already be in Florida for this project – but we are still waiting for our house to sell.
Last month we asked prayer for the Palaka missionaries in West Africa, so this month, let me mention another missionary couple, Paul & Marina, who work with the Loron ethnic group. They have been continuing literacy work (teaching the people to read & write first in their own tribal language) and Bible translation from the country to the north, where this people group also live. On a recent visit to the church they helped to start in Côte d’Ivoire, the local officials asked Paul & Marina to return to live in their village again. Please pray for the missionaries to know if and when to return more permanently.
By the way, New Tribes Mission of Canada has a web site (http://canada.ntm.org/) that is wanting to expand bi-lingually, to offer French language resources plus mission news and challenge, as well. Pray for the right team to be formed in implementing this new endeavor.
PRAISE God with us:
1- for the mission projects to work on, as we wait for our house to sell.
2- for progress in the French grade one Bible lessons for Haiti.
3- for Martha’s good visit with our oldest son & family (that includes 3 of our grandkids) in California.
PRAY with us:
1- for missionaries, like those working on Bible translation for the Loron people group, who need the Lord’s wisdom in when to return to Côte d’Ivoire.
2- for God’s timing and provision of a buyer for our house in Alabama, so we can move to Florida as soon as possible.
3- for the completion of the grade one Bible lessons for Haiti (in French and Creole) for this coming school year.
