VISION
We are based in Scotland and working with the Training & Mobilization Team of NTM (UK) which is the UK branch of Ethnos360
On our hearts is the original vision of “Reaching NEW TRIBES until the LAST tribe is reached,” and the new Ethnos360 vision statement of “A Thriving Church for Every People.”
BACKGROUND
Thom & Carolyn Cunningham served in evangelism, discipleship and church planting for 23 years in Austria, England and Scotland before they joined NTM in 1995. Endeavoring to challenge university students in Scotland into missions, Thom & Carolyn were themselves challenged to become personally involved in reaching those tribal peoples who have never heard the Gospel.
After a year of retraining with NTM, they served for a year teaching in the on-site, “hands-on” Summit Interface training program located among tribal ministries in Papua New Guinea. Returning to the UK they actively served from 1997 — 2006 as NTM Representatives throughout England, Scotland, and occasionally helping in Ireland and Germany, as well as teaching at the UK NTM Bible & Missionary Training Center for Europe.
MINISTRY
For many years Thom has been partnering with local churches in Europe and the USA through teaching seminars — “Each One REACH One — Each One TEACH One” (personal evangelism & one-on-one discipleship) and “Opening the Scriptures” (an introduction to the chronological approach to evangelism and discipling). His burden and passion is to assist churches in challenging, equipping and mobilizing believers to make disciples from their “Jerusalem,” even unto the uttermost!
The Cunninghams are serving on the NTM (UK) European Training and Mobilization Team. They enjoy representing the burden and work of NTM (UK) in Scotland, taking missions services and meetings for NTM (UK) in UK churches, challenging both young and old to be actively involved in missions, to join us in reaching unreached tribal peoples, by praying, sending missionaries, and by going on short-term mission trips, or giving their lives to go long-term to take the Gospel to people who have never yet heard the Good News of Jesus.
Thom is a part-time Biblical Studies teacher at “North Cotes College” – the New Tribes Mission (Ethnos360) European Bible & Missionary Training College which is located in Lincolnshire, England. The “Firm Foundations – Creation to Christ” course introduces the new first-year students to the background, principles and practical use of the chronological, narrative approach to evangelism and discipleship, which is used worldwide by NTM church planters. Thom’s “Each One REACH One – Each One TEACH One” course is designed to challenge and equip the student for personal evangelism and one-to-one discipleship.
Thom has been teaching a “Foundations – The Basics of Discipleship” course at their local church in Scotland, as well as in local churches, and occasionally in Germany as a support to Ethnos360 Germany. This course has been used of the Lord in challenging folks into the training and ministry of NTM (UK) / Ethnos360, and in equipping churches in reaching their local communities for Christ.
