Tonight was the night that was all about our youngest. It was Jake’s turn to be singled out. With both his brother and sister on overnight church activities, Jake was the only child at home. With having 6 children (only 3 at home now), and Jake being the youngest, that is not something that happens very often. Usually our house is a center of activity with either our 3 at home, or with our 3 plus several (or all) of their friends. So this was one night we needed to make memorable.
It is really hard, with all the different personalities in our family, to find something that is a “custom fit” to them. But with Jake taking golf lessons the past few weeks, miniature golf seemed the perfect fit for him. Also, although Jake is a picky eater, he really does LOVE pepperoni pizza, So our night included, not only miniature golf, but also pepperoni pizza. And so we had a wonderful time, just the 3 of us, and Jake was the winner with the best score AND his pepperoni pizza. But in actuality I think that we were the winners, especially when we heard a voice from the back seat say, “I think this was the best day!”
