Our update is a little late this month. We’ve had a long month of sickness and we’re just pulling out of it- kinda. Abby was the first to catch the bug, then 7 days later Dina caught it, then Tim, and finally me. As I write my entire body is peppered in red, prickly bumps. Hopefully this is the end of my week of sickness. But just this morning Abby woke up with a fever- please tell me we’re not starting the cycle over 🙁 Thanks to many of you who have been praying for us and encouraging us through this time. It’s amazing how being a bit “off” in body can also bring all kinds of thoughts of discouragement and emotions that normally don’t hold much water. But thanks be to God for His amazing grace and strength just when we need it! Please pray with us that our bodies would heal and remain healthy. Thanks!
Our partners from Germany are just getting back from their home assignment! We’re very excited to have them back on site and our girls can’t wait to play with their kids! It’s been a year since we’ve been together.
Tim has been preparing for a consultant check that is coming up in just 2 weeks. We plan to have 2 men come in as part of our leadership who will bring clarity to these early days of Bible lesson preparation and thinking through what the first teaching times will look like. We’re excited about this time as it means we’re getting really close to TEACHING! Pray with us as our team meets several times over one week to talk through and seek the Lord’s leading in how He would have us begin the teaching of God’s Word in this village.
Like the rise and fall of the ocean tides we cannot help but feel certain ebbs and flows in our relationships with people here in the village. Over the years we have prayed for true love and empathy as we live among the people here. Christ demonstrated His love through laying down His life. Christ became poor in the amazing move from heaven to earth. We his children see that now and are blown away by His great love. Yet how many missed the significance of Christ’s coming? Misinterpreting that love for a hundred different lesser things. Jesus knew where He had come from and where He was going. He knew the Father and it seems that those anchors held Him in the midst of the worst rise or fall of public opinion.
Please pray for us that we could stand firm in that same confidence that He who has called us is faithful and He will do it! His promise is to build His church, and no power in earth or hell can prevail against what Christ is and will do.
Looking to the Savior,
Tim, Andrea, Dina & Abby
