As I write, Tim is involved in 9 days of meetings with other field workers discussing the changing world we live in and how it affects the way we teach in tribal settings. Of course the message of the gospel does not change, but the way we communicate it can make a difference.
The girls and I came with Tim to the meeting location and are doing homeschooling while enjoying a change of pace and scenery in a very pretty place!
It’s such a great feeling to not be sweaty and hot 24/7, what a difference! AC and swimming and fun food options~ Yes Please!
Our teaching time in the village has gone pretty well the last few months. We taught through the death, burial, and resurrection and then a lesson on John 10 and the good shepherd. We had different discussion times as a group and are starting to see more clearly where people are in their understanding. We have several that have been coming to the teaching very consistently but are not saying much, so it’s really hard to know where they’re at spiritually. PRAY with us that we will know how to bring up different conversations with these friends to know how to further teach or encourage or clarify the gospel message with them. As we get back into the village near the end of the month we hope to continue teaching into the book of Acts and then a brief stop in Revelation to give an overview of God’s glorious plan to restore His Kingdom at the end of the age.
As the gospel light is being spread in this village area, the spiritual battle rages and shows itself in different ways as we live and serve here. From discouragement and sickness, to other distractions and difficulties please continue to pray for our team. PRAY for an ability to keep focused on the big picture in the midst of daily disappointments and frustrations with our relationships in the village. I could go on and on explaining how much these can get us down, but just know that we need your prayers. Thanks
