On the Airwaves

April 13, 2010 by Tom

Sometimes I get ideas that Tom thinks are crazy. Sometimes they don’t work, but often they do-this is one of the times that one did. 🙂

A while back Tom and I were talking about how we wished we could have the opportunity to share about reaching the unreached with way more people than we have. Since it is something we are very passionate about we wished we could have a bigger audience! All of a sudden I thought… radio! We should go on the radio! Tom agreed to let me contact a local Christian Radio Station (possibly just to humor me) *smile*.

To both of our surprise, in less than a day we heard back from them and they wasted no time in enthusiastically booking us! WOW! Then we got nervous, was this really that great of an idea after all? Live radio? What would we say?

So, on Monday the 12th of April we ventured 45 minutes to Holland, OH to (102.3 FM) WPOS, Christian Radio. Although we were a bit nervous we had an amazing time! The staff were super friendly and enthusiastic about us. First we spent an hour pre-recording a show with one host named Al and next we went on live for an hour on a show called “Light Line”. The host Denise was super nice and we had a great interview with her discussing the needs of the many unreached and our plans to go and be a part of reaching them. We are so grateful for this amazing opportunity to share about God’s heart beat for the lost. It is our prayer that many were able to hear the show and were challenged to be a part of this incredible task we (as believers) have been given!

Oh, and one more thing. They might have us come back in June! Praise the Lord!

It was cool. I think it went well. We might post the audio on here soon, too.
