We’ve blazed the Oregon trail yet again! Well, at least our own trial from Michigan to the west. We’ve been able to return to Oregon three times over the last year and a half. This time however will likely be our last before heading overseas, and it is also quite short compared to our last two visits.
Already, almost a week has flown by since we touched down. I have been incredibly thankful for some sunny days since we got here (often Oregon weather can be overcast). Since we have been here we have had a wonderful time staying with Tom’s family. We have enjoyed babysitting our nephews and niece, taking them on a few adventures, Tom “tickling their faces off” and just being silly for the fun of it. Jude has been getting to know his cousins better, too!
This time has been especially treasured since we know that it will be several years before we see them again.
The second night we were here, Jude got to meet his third great grandmother and that was a wonderful treat. Gramma Eleanor wasted no time in stretching her arms out to hold him and then agreed to some help as she felt the full weight of his 1 year old body! 🙂 Gramma and Jude had some sweet bonding time as the family threw Jude a late birthday party. And yes, it was complete with cake! I think Jude was in a sugar coma that evening!
Then last weekend we went and stayed at a lake house (very close to the ocean) with even MORE family and that was also a wonderful time. It was great to relax with people we love and have time to laugh and catch up on life. Jude also had plenty of kids to play with and many chances to practice sharing. 😀
As for partnership development, we have some plans lined up and are looking to schedule some more meetings before we leave. This trip is our shortest trip to Portland we have had, so we are pretty short on time and what we have is filling up fast.
We will keep you up to date, so keep checking back to see what we have been up to!
