Journey of Grace

May 25, 2010 by Tom

Recently my friend Jeff Schaap asked me if I would be willing to be interviewed for a video project he was working on as part of a job interview for a Senior Videographer position at Wycliffe Bible Translators. Jeff has been praying for some time about being involved in world missions by using his skills as a video production specialist. The Lord opened up an opportunity for him to apply for a job opening that fit his incredible skills perfectly.

Part of his application included a video project where he was required to interview someone and to tell their story. After thinking about it, Jeff asked if I would be that person. I felt honored to be asked, and Jeff felt good about the decision because he knew that if nothing came of the job opportunity, we would still be able to use this video in various ways throughout our ministry.

So, Jeff flew from his home in Denver to Michigan, where we arrived from Oregon the following day. Filming began the day after we arrived home and over the next few days production continued and Jeff was able to successfully finish to project by the deadline. Overall, from start to end, production for this video lasted five days, and was completed and sent in about a week ago.

Needless to say, Jeff is incredibly talented and the video turned out fantastic. It was so good, that shortly after his project was turned in, Wycliffe called and offered him the job of Senior Videographer. I was excited to be there when he accepted the offer. We prayed and thanked the Lord together and later that evening celebrated this new opportunity the Lord has provided in His perfect timing.  Congratulations, Jeff!

We are thankful to Jeff for thinking of me in doing this production, and are excited to think that the Lord could use it to be a blessing and an encouragement in the lives of others. Hopefully you will find it encouraging to you, wherever you find yourself in your walk with God.

I can’t believe the journey has only just begun. A long road lay ahead of you, but your faith will carry you far beyond your dreams.
God’s peace be with you now and always.

    Wow, Tom & Beth,
This was very riveting testimony of your life, Tom and also your call together to reach Papua New Guinea! Excellent blend of music, message and video.
