This past weekend was one of the most wonderful and the most exhausting ones I can remember. It was my sister Chrissy’s wedding to Donald Lamar Chubb III. Whether you like it or not-here is the “blow by blow” of it all. 🙂 Enjoy!
In the middle of the week, wedding people began arriving at our house and things just got more fun by the minute! We managed to keep super busy dusting off more of the “to do” list for the wedding as well as having good fellowship. It was especially nice to spend more time with Don’s family and realize even more how wonderful they are! We really do love them!
So, Saturday flew by as I and many others ran around like crazy (and sweat like crazy too) to get everything set up and ready. I was happy to be able to do the flowers for the wedding and I think they were pretty cute! 🙂
If you couldn’t be at this wonderful wedding, let me walk you through it: Out in a beautiful yard with some trees (by some lovely woods) tables and chairs were set up with an aisle going through them. Under the biggest tree in the yard, there was a large platform with white ribbons hanging from the tree over it. Strung between the trees were white Christmas lights and in the trees hung round white paper lanterns. Topping all the tables were mason jars filled with mint and white and yellow flowers. There was a cookie for every guest and a bookmark with Don & Chrissy’s smiling faces on them. If guests were bored they could play scrabble with the vintage scrabble on each table.
As for the ceremony, the brides maids entered in blue dresses holding white, yellow and green flowers & the groomsmen in white shirts and blue bow ties, grey slacks and grey slip on sneakers. Don watched Chrissy walk toward him looking prettier than ever. The ceremony was short and sweet and the vows were deep and meaningful. Thirty minutes later they were announced as Mr. & Mrs. Donald Chubb III and the party started!
Between fun music and food, guests took turns getting their pictures taken in the guest photo booth, played games in the yard and enjoyed the fantastic dessert table and wedding cake! The bouquet and garter were tossed and Don and Chrissy had their first dance as husband and wife. At almost 10pm the happy couple ran out between rows of happy friends who waved sparklers at them. Away they drove in their big green truck and it was over. A whirl wind of joy and my sister was a Mrs! It was so great.
There are so many things we thank God for in all the planning. He provided amazing weather, wonderful friends that helped out with everything from lending us things to referring a great photographer. Oh! And HELPING for hours to set it all up! I am convinced that God cares about the details-I think He really showed us this for the wedding!
Most of all I thank the Lord for providing a wonderful brother in law. It is so encouraging to see my sister walk with the Lord and find a mate who desires to do the same. We love Chrissy and Don and pray that their future is as beautiful and God honoring as their wedding!

So happy you were here for her wedding! It looked beautiful and I know you had a lot to do with it!
I hope everything else comes together, although in a way I don’t…. If it didn’t would you stay? Of course I’m joking, and very excited for your departure to be so close. Feels good to “finally be there”.

Beth and Tom,
So good that you are still there to participate in all that!
Of course, I am praying for the miracles you need of raised support and visa.
I am still often amazed at how SLOWLY God seems to move!
What’s He holding things up for, anyhow? (Hee hee.)
Love, Aunt Charlotte
