All the Answers

July 10, 2010 by Tom

God has repeatedly blessed us with the opportunity to spend time with people who are serving in the same region in Papua New Guinea as we are going!  It is amazing how the timing of everything has lined up just how it should to enable these visits (wonderful how God works, eh?).  Several weeks ago we were able to have one such gathering.

Rory & Mary Fullers are missionaries who serve in the Islands region of Papua New Guinea and they actually would have been facilitating our orientation time had they not come home on furlough. The Fullers hosted a BBQ at their temporary home in Lansing and graciously invited Tom & I to be a part.

So Tom and I, along with the Sanford’s -an incredible family who serves in the islands as well- and another couple who are interested in missions enjoyed a great meal together and had such great conversation!

This was the first time we had met the Sanford’s and we were able to ask so many questions of them about what ministry in the islands is like.  We are so thankful for their honesty and openness and for their example of Christ likeness to us.  We could have spent the whole day asking questions!

Even though we are sure to go through struggles and major adjustments when we arrive to Papua New Guinea, it is very comforting to know that we have been able to ask all the questions we have had of the people who are very qualified to give the answers.  Thank you Lord for helping us be as prepared as possible for this major life adjustment!
