Last Post-Op for the {Pirate} Princess!

October 10, 2014 by Tom

It was a sweet moment when Iris smiled at her ophthalmologist and said, “Thank you for fixing my eyes!” I felt pretty choked up as the doctor smiled and told her it had been his privilege to treat her. And that was that. The end of Iris’ VERY LAST appointment before we move to Mexico.

It seems unreal to me still that Iris’ eyes are totally fine now. I look at pictures of her sweet little face before and see those sparkly dark eyes that were almost never both looking in the same direction. All the stress and worry for her floods back into my memory again and as soon as it does I remember God’s faithfulness. There we were, only three days ago getting the final check up on Iris’ eyes. God took care of every detail, guided the hands of a skilled surgeon and helped Iris’ eyes heal as they should and strengthen perfectly. We feel so blessed by her recovery.

Here are a few pictures from her last appointment! Thank the Lord along with us for her perfect recovery and His protective hand!
