“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. . . ” John 1:14
Or as C. S. Lewis put it in Mere Christianity, “The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God.” We are so thankful we get to play a small part in bringing this good news to many people groups across Papua New Guinea. This past month two people groups, North Waghi and Kuman have received the complete New Testament in their own languages (more than a ten year process!)
This month we are also celebrating Travis ‘graduating’ from Tok Pisin study and moving on to working at the hangar full time. The past few weeks he has been doing ‘ground school’, simulator training, and ride alongs. As soon as his flight permit arrives from the government he can begin his training flights in the Kodiak (the fixed wing airplane we use here.) We’ve heard that the permit is in process and should arrive soon. Please pray with us that the permit is not delayed in arriving.

. . . and Happy New Year!
“Notice how we are perpetually surprised at Time. . . Why? Unless indeed there is something in us which is not temporal.” C. S. Lewis.
It’s hard to believe we’ve almost lived in Papua New Guinea for a whole year now! The days have been long, but the year was short. Looking back on the last year, we spent a majority of the time learning Tok Pisin (the national language). We were also able to help in various ways around the support center here. Travis was able to do some sound and lighting work for school events and Sunday morning church service. Becky helped with Children’s Church and recess duty. Nathan is now in second grade. Hannah and Grace are both home with mom, they enjoy playing with friends and going to Friday morning story time at the school library. Parenting takes on a new twist in every stage of life and we always appreciate your prayers for wisdom in raising our kids.

Short and Medium term opportunities in PNG
Encounter is coming to PNG, September 6-20, 2025! Encounter is a part of Ethnos360’s Short-Term Trips, offering two-week trips to various Global Partner locations around the world. Participants will be challenged to find their fit in reaching the unreached by learning, serving and experiencing cross-cultural ministry first-hand.
In PNG, the focus will be on connecting participants to the various needs in Support (medical, technical, education, etc.). They will learn about ministry needs and the long-term efforts necessary for taking God’s gospel to the ends of the earth. They’ll hear from missionaries in various ministry roles and have an opportunity to spend time in one of our church planting locations.
If you or someone you know would be interested in this experience, they can apply at: https://ethnos360.org/short-term-trips/encounter
Want to teach overseas? Numonohi Christian Academy (NCA) which serves the children of missionaries here in PNG is in need of elementary teachers, secondary math, science, English and Spanish teachers, special education teachers and technology teachers. There are also opportunities for home-school helpers. You can find out more information and apply here www.ntmpng.org/nca
