We were hoping that the pace in March would slow down some, but the busy pace continued. When Walter returned from the basketball tournament, he prepared and taught two sessions to 21 staff at Faith Academy that are working on their Biblical Philosophy of Christian Education. Walter had not done this before, so it was stretching, but we are thankful he could do it for the staff at Faith. Next quarter he and the principals need to observe those participants applying it in their lesson plans.
Walter has also been coordinating the middle school speech tournament. This is the first time he has facilitated this event so he has learned a lot about speeches. Abby performed in it, doing a humorous duo with a friend of hers. She did very well, even though she did not make the finalists.
Juliana’s rehabilitation on her knee is going well. We were able to take her to an orthopedic doctor here in the Philippines the day after she got back from Japan. He had her walking out of the office and is now having her work on strengthening the muscles in her knee. This Saturday, she will see the doctor again and hopefully will get the “go-ahead” to begin increasing activity. She still has pain, but not that bad.
We have purchased our tickets to return to the US this June for our one-year home assignment. We still have many details to work on, like subletting our house here and finding a home to live in while in Kansas. We have enrolled Abby in a Christian school in Wichita. Please pray for all these details to work out as well as the finances for our return. Please also pray for our college age children as they look for summer work. Paul will be traveling with the singing team, Evidence, for the college the first part of the summer so has a challenge getting work. Ben and Jessica will be moving to North Carolina so have some challenges ahead. Jessica already has a job waiting for her.
