Our home assignment is flying by, as we have been in the US for three months already. In our last letter we mentioned that we purchased a minivan and were looking at houses. After much prayer and asking advice, we are excited to say that we purchased a beautiful home near Wichita, KS. We are very thankful how God worked it all out. We were also blessed by friends and family who furnished it, and our home church is having a food shower for us and gave us a small freezer full of meat.
We Skype Ben and Jessica who live on the east coast and we have visited our college-aged children in Kansas City, even watching a few of Ashley’s and Juliana’s volleyball games. Abby is settling in well to her middle school and enjoys playing volleyball. So we have much to be thankful for.
We have been helping out at our home church with VBS this past summer and now with AWANA and singing. We were able to share our presentation at three different churches; but time is slipping by, as we would love to share at more churches. Please contact us if we could share at your church, Sunday school, or Bible study. Typically, we only speak in churches that friends and family members inquire for us.
When we present our ministry, we have three goals: first, to challenge people through the scriptures and our ministry to be “Sowers of the Gospel” (the topic of my sermon); second, to encourage people through the scriptures and our ministry to continue the ministry that God has called them to perform, wherever they live and wherever He leads; and third, we are looking for ministry partners—people that will join us in our ministry by praying for us or giving financially. Our monthly support is at 56% and we have several thousands dollars to raise towards outgoing expenses (tickets, vehicle, visa, and replacing some appliances).
We can vary our presentation, sharing our ministry with our PowerPoint and videos of NTM and Faith Academy and share our testimonies or sermon. Sometimes churches ask us to share during the Sunday school hour AND worship hour but sometimes for just a few minutes. We are flexible.
Our target date to return to the Philippines is mid-July as Faith Academy starts at the beginning of August. So we have much to be thankful for and much to do during this school year while we are in the US.
Plus we are excited to see you soon.
In Christ,
Walter and Cheryl Spicer
