Lamentations 3:22b-23, “…his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
As I write this, we are traveling back to Wichita. We had a great time visiting with friends and family on our way to Wisconsin. On Saturday, we enjoyed a God-honoring wedding, celebrating the union of our son, Paul, with his bride, Bekah. It was special to witness the focus of God in their lives and to worship God with them as they pledged their love and commitment to each other and before God. It was a joyous time but sad as we know we leave for the Philippines in a few days.
We have been members of New Tribes Mission for over 25 years now. Our looks have changed a little but our family has really changed. We had no children when we first went to the Philippines in 1989, but over the years, four have graduated from Faith Academy and two are now married.
We covet your prayers as we transition back to Faith Academy. It will be difficult leaving our adult-children and our parents (Walter’s parents will turn 85) and our extended family and friends. Regarding our workload: we fly Wednesday, arrive in Manila late on Thursday, new staff orientation starts Friday, all staff retreat is the following week and school starts on July 31. So we will hit the ground running. Our monthly support and outgoing expenses remain at 61% but God is in control and we are thankful that our prayer support has increased over our one-year home assignment.
Our time in the US has quickly come to a close, but we are excited to see what God will do in and through us as we head back to the Philippines. God continues to be faithful!
Thank you for your prayers!
In Christ,
Walter and Cheryl
