Happy New Year to you all! We are looking forward to all that God will do in 2015. We enjoyed a wonderful time with all our daughters. Ashley and
Juliana were able to see some of their friends from Faith Academy and we were able to enjoy some of the sites and memories of their time growing up in the Philippines. Not everything turned out as we had hoped but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. They had a good trip back to the US, even though their bags took a little longer arriving. Ashley even played in a basketball tournament a couple days later.
We started the new year with our coworkers in New Tribes Mission at our conference. It was a great time to see our friends and hear how God is working in their various areas of service and also to meet the new members. We were encouraged in the Word and prayed for each other. It was good to be reminded why we are working at a missionary kids’ school, to be a support to those who are working to preach the gospel in remote areas and see new churches started and leaders equipped with God’s Word in their language.
We had to leave our conference early as the teachers at Faith had an in-service before school started on January 8. Walter is busy with Outdoor Ed preparations. He is reviewing contracts and communicating to leaders, speakers and parents. Both Walter and I will be going on this adventure the first week of February. I will go as the camp nurse.
January is also the month that the high school holds their Spiritual Emphasis Week. They will have a special speaker each day of the week. Pray for spiritual renewal for the students during this time.
Another prayer request we would like for you to pray about with us is regarding our summer plans. With the death of Walter’s brother-in-law and his dad’s current cancer battle, we are praying about the possibility of a trip to the US for a few weeks during the summer months. We would also desire to see our first grandchild that will be born in May to Ben and Jessica, who plan to leave for Brazil as missionaries in December. To us, the cost of tickets is insurmountable, but God is a God of wonders. Please pray that God would make it clear to us if this is a possibility. We are also still looking to purchase a vehicle for Juliana as she heads off to a different college and work.
We are grateful for your part in our lives, family and ministry. Thank you for praying, giving and encouraging us for another year.
