Outdoor Education 2015

January 31, 2015 by Walter and Cheryl Spicer

This week begins the week of Outdoor Education for our middle school students. Walt has been very busy with planning this week since last

jungle survival

quarter. It has been especially trying this year as they had to find new sites for this time as the camp was no longer usable. Walt left this morning with the advance staff to get set up for the arrival of students on Monday, February 2. The students will learn about sea life and study sea turtles and get to release newly hatched baby sea turtles into the ocean, experience a ropes course, learn some jungle survival skills, and have a ministry with school children in the area as the gospel is presented to them. Those are just some of the experiences. We would appreciate your prayers for this week, for safety, the logistics of all the activities and for spiritual growth and renewal as they listen to a chapel speaker each night. This week is a highlight for these students, especially spiritually. Many students look back on this week with great memories and for some it is a turning point in their relationship with God.

I too will be going as the camp nurse. I will leave with the students on Monday. Abby will stay with a friend while we are gone.

Thank you for covering us with your prayers,

Cheryl for the Spicers
