Family news and Korea

October 8, 2015 by Walter and Cheryl Spicer

This week we are enjoying a break in our regular routine. We have 10 days off from school so Walter and I have been enjoying some time together without the pressures of school.

The last two days of last week was parent/teacher conferences. Walter had a few meetings with parents as well.

Abby is also enjoying her break in Korea with the concert choir. They are on a ministry trip, singing for schools, in open-air places, a hospital and a few churches. Some of the Korean missionaries from the school arranged for these opportunities as well as Korean pastors to go along and translate testimonies and present the gospel. Please pray that the time will be used of God in the lives they touch as well as in the students’ lives.

We are thankful for the opportunities for us to talk to our children in the US. Juliana and Ashley’s classes have already started in college. Pray for Juliana as she starts in a new college, Liberty University, making adjustments. It will be more expensive than anticipated.

Ben and Jessica are currently traveling. They went to their final classes with their mission, Pioneers, and also visiting friends and sharing their ministry as they raise their support for serving in Brazil.

Paul and Bekah are continuing to work, and Paul is still a youth pastor in Kansas City. He is getting ready for an activity at the end of October that they hope to reach out to others in the community and also a retreat with other churches in November.

Pray for me as I continue working in the health office 2 days/week and am one of Abby’s class advisors. Pray for a good spiritual growth for Abby’s class this year. We are also hoping to do a DVD Bible study with her and her friends.

We are still praying for a MS counselor and vice principal for Walter. Since we have no counselor yet, Walter administered the annual school ability test, but he has not found time to hand score them yet. It has really been a stretch for him adding the responsibilities of the counselor and vice principal to his agenda. Pray for the right people to come along.

Thank you for praying for us,

Cheryl for the Spicers
