Thank you for your continued prayers for us during this time. God continues to sustain us and remind us of His blessings and supreme control over all things.
Thank you for your prayers for Walter’s hernia surgery. It went very well, and he was home before lunch, though he didn’t feel much like eating. His recovery is going well, and he has been able to manage the pain with over the counter medications. He still has lifting limitations. With the uncertainty of our entrance into the Philippines by October 24 and Walt’s recovery, we decided to move our flight to January 3.
Faith Academy continues with Distance Learning and we continue meeting with fellow staff during the evening/night hours. We would appreciate your continued prayers for the Philippines to allow face to face learning, both for our students’ benefit as well as the Filipino students, who don’t have online schooling as an option. Also, please pray that the borders of the Philippines will open more, but we just got word that people with our type of visa will be allowed to enter the Philippines and all of our staff have been approved to enter as well.
Our biggest praise is the safe delivery of our newest grandson, Tomas Elliot, weighing in at 5 pounds and 15 ounces and 19.5 inches long. He is a tiny thing but very healthy. It was a privilege for us to be here to help our son and his family during this time. We were able to watch his siblings while his parents went to the hospital and also see Tomas when he came home. This is the first time we have been present during the birth of a grandchild.
Continue to pray for God’s Kingdom to be built in the Philippines and around the world during these uncertain times. God is in control and we rejoice in His love and patience for us. May God continue to be glorified!
Thank you for your prayers for us,
Cheryl for the Spicers
