Luke 2:10-11 – But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
It is exciting to be celebrating the birth of Jesus. God gave us the gift we needed most, deliverance from sin. He knew when He made us that we would need Him to rescue us. It is exciting that He knows what the future holds and that He is in control of it. This year has been a unique year but we can trust Him to accomplish His good and perfect will and that He is the victor.
Our time in the US is coming to an end. We have enjoyed being near family and friends. Walter and I were not able to celebrate Thanksgiving in the presence of our family as we both contracted Covid, but it was still nice to be near family. We both had a mild case and have recovered quite well.
We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with all our children (minus Devin who can’t join us due to work requirements). We are very excited about being with our children and grandchildren.
Soon after the new year, we will be flying to the Philippines. Though it will be sad to say goodbye to everyone, we are excited to return to our work in the Philippines. It will be much easier for Walter to physically meet with people as deputy head of the school. Though Faith Academy will still be using the distance learning model, there may be opportunities for me to do some work in the health office as well.
We appreciate all the prayers and support that you give to us as missionaries. Together, we are a team to reach Asia, expanding God’s Kingdom. Continue to pray for the Philippines as many are still recovering from the typhoons and lack of jobs from quarantine.
Merry Christmas,
Cheryl for the Spicers
