It is hard to believe that our short, rescheduled home assignment time has come to an end. Lord willing, we will fly to the Philippines this week. We have spent the last year wondering when we would be able to return to the Philippines while continuing to carry out our roles with Faith Academy here in the US. We have been blessed to see so many family and friends and be involved in many activities we didn’t expect.
We have spent the last few months visiting family and friends and spoke at a few of our supporting churches. We praise God for safety while traveling and the renewed friendships as well as making new friends. God has blessed us immeasurably.
Last weekend, we married off our youngest daughter, Abigail. We enjoyed special time with family and getting to know Wade’s family as well. The day was beautiful and a beautiful ceremony to challenge and celebrate their new life together.
We are now finalizing all that we need to do in order to travel, packing, filling out paperwork, apps, etc. With COVID protocols, this is very time consuming and at times confusing. We are also thankful that we were able to close on our house before we flew.
Thank you for all your prayers for us throughout this year as we figured out how to do our job from a different continent and time zone and in a different way. We are thankful to remember that God is in control and nothing has taken Him by surprise. Though restrictions continue in the Philippines, we are looking forward to being back where God has called us to serve. Please pray for all the details for our travel and entry into the Philippines.
Serving God at Faith Academy,
Walter and Cheryl Spicer
