We thank God for all the He did in 2021! The first half of 2021 was in the US which we thoroughly loved being with friends and family! But for the second half, God opened the door for us to return to the Philippines! For first semester everything was still in lockdown in the Philippines, so FA remained a virtual school. We were excited to see things starting to open up in October and November. Much of my time was spent in meetings and in front of my computer, preparing our safety protocols for FA. We are so thankful that our LGU (Local Government Unit is our municipality or city) and the Department of Education approved our safety protocols. They both inspected our campus in December and approved our facilities so we can start our blended learning model in January. We will have half the students on campus Mondays and Wednesdays and the other half on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday will still be virtual. Pray for the teachers as they teach both face to face and virtually at the same time which will be challenging for them. Pray for Walter and our team as we continue to make sure that we comply with the government’s guidelines. Plus pray that all of the devices and Wi-Fi will work properly–Walter is the Administrator over our IT Department too. Our campus will be inspected in January by our LGU and in February by the Department of Education. Plus pray that things will continue to open up. IF things tighten up, it could shut down our blended learning. Lastly pray for Cheryl and the Health Office as they will be extremely busy with students on campus and feel responsible to keep our campus COVID free.
We are also grateful for our time at the Butterfly Project, a home for abused girls. It is definitely Walter’s sweet spot! Filipinos LOVE Christmas, so we had several activities there during the month of December. We truly enjoy bringing joy to these precious girls. We wish we could share our pictures of them to you, but for security reasons, we are not allowed to show their faces on the internet.
Thank you for your continued support, financially and in prayer. It takes a team and we are so thankful for YOU ALL, and we are thankful for all that God did in 2021. Plus, we are excited to see what God will do in 2022; how He will use each of us to be used by Him and to glorify Him.
Happy New Year!
Walter and Cheryl Spicer
