Willingness to Teach

August 2, 2017 by Wayne and Patsy Gibson

When the invitation was given for Piapoco believers to be trained to teach God’s Word, Amanda and Yadida were among the group upriver who gladly volunteered.  The training time is scheduled for later this year in that village.

Being a part of the team with their husbands, the wives returned here, and the team shared the good news of new believers and of those who want to be trained to teach the evangelism lessons. Wayne encouraged the team, ‘Think about possibly training the two ladies here if they would like that?’ So on their own, the men set up a Teacher Training time for the Piapoco ladies, and with a few other ladies who also want to be trained.

Several months ago we had sent out a prayer request that the Lord would raise up more Piapoco Christians to help with the teaching ministries.  Susana, Nelly and Patsy have had their hands full with Children and Ladies ministries in two Piapoco neighborhoods.

Aware that they can use these important tools for also teaching their own children and grandchildren, or other family members, the ladies have gladly come on board to be equipped to teach.

Thank you for praying for this group of Piapoco women, who, normally shy and reserved, have boldly taken this first step in reaching others with the gospel.

Pray, too, for the trip upriver, in November, when the team returns to equip Piapoco Christians for the work of the ministry.

Pray for the Lord’s direction for each of the teaching teams as they reach out to other villages with God’s message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and to disciple Piapoco leaders.
