Thank you for praying, the Lord’s sustaining power is evident in every step we take in this missions’ outreach among the sub-groups of the Guahibo language family.
The Cuiva people: Foundational Bible Teaching was begun with a small group. They showed a great deal of interest; thank the Lord. A team made up of four Cuiva believers plus José and Alberto, will continue adapting the Bible lessons. As this work moves forward, José will be accompanying the Cuiva men in the teaching and discipling them. One of the Cuiva leaders commented: “Knowing what we have been going through, God brought you-all to us in His time”.
The Amorúa, Masiware, Tsiripo and Waëpijiwi people: After praying for a while we thought that this trip would be a good time to start the Foundational Bible Teaching with them, but that didn’t happen. They didn’t come out and we don’t know why; we had heard that they wanted to hear the Bible teaching in their language. But let’s keep praying that God will keep that desire alive in their hearts and grow it by His Word. It’s never easy to get a work started, the Satan is stalking in many ways. It will be possible for these four people groups to be reached with the good news of the Gospel through the Guahibos and the Cuibas. We are trusting in God and in what He is going to do in his time for His honor and glory. Thank you for continuing to pray.
In fellowship with the Alianza’ s church, some plans were made to get the ministry of Eliodoro, Sandra and their four children started. One of the brothers from the church made a house available for the family to use – an excellent provision for which we thank the Lord. We expect that they’ll move there in June. Thank you for continuing to pray for this missionary outreach.
What a blessing and encouragement to see what God is doing through the Guahibo missionaries as they teach the Word in such a clear way, sharing their testimonies and struggles and giving honor and glory to God! And many thanks to you for being a vital part of the work through your prayers and financial support.
Alberto’s health. Thank you for praying for Alberto, he was able to control his pain on this trip with medication. In order to reach one of the villages where they were going to teach, he was able to ride in an open trailer behind a big tractor for five hours, which made that part of the trip more comfortable (he didn’t get a chance to take a picture). The tractor ride was a provision of the Lord since it’s not a common means of transportation in that area. Unfortunately, he had to make the return trip on the back of a motorcycle for two hours, with significant pain.
The last week we went to Alberto’s medical appointment, the doctor sent Alberto to specialized physical therapy for six weeks to strengthen his joints and improve his mobility. The therapy sessions begin the second or third week of April, then he is to see the doctor again for another evaluation. We rest in the will of the Lord, trusting that He will give the doctor wisdom to determine the next steps of treatment. God always knows the best. Thank you for continuing to uphold us in prayer.
May God bless you, Alberto and Nancy Gonzalez
