I just graduated from theEthnos360 Training Center in Roach, Missouri. I am so grateful for the time there and what I was able to learn and experience. I am officially a missionary with Ethnos360 and am now in the process of joining a branch of the mission called MK Care (Missionary Kid Care).
MK Care is a part of Ethnos360 dedicated to helping care for missionary kids and their families so that they can continue in their ministry of helping plant churches among every tribe, tongue, and nation. You see, missionary kids have a unique experience and the way they adapt or struggle can either have a positive or negative impact on their parent’s ministry. The reality is, if MKs do not adapt well, they can ultimately hinder or even halt their parent’s ministry of helping reach people with the Gospel. MK Care is something that I am super excited to be involved with since I grew up as a missionary kid myself and I am aware of the joys and blessings of being a MK, as well as the struggles and heartache. I am eager to come alongside missionary kids and walk with them through the difficult seasons of life and the times when adjusting to a new culture can seem impossible.
I am figuring out the next steps in what the Lord has for me.
Looking forward…
Something that I have continually been learning and reminded of is that I can trust the Lord with each step I take as I seek to follow after Him. This can be tricky sometimes when the unknown seems overwhelming, but my God has never failed me yet and I will continue to trust Him.
I am currently in Iowa raising support and connecting with churches and people in the area. My hope is to continue doing this for the rest of the summer and at the beginning of Fall head back to the Ethnos360 Training Center in Missouri. The goal there would be to help on staff at the training center part time and to begin working with MK(missionary kid) Care part time. I would continue to raise support over school breaks. None of this is set in stone, but is a hope and goal of mine that I am working towards with my team.
I have the opportunity to be a part of the Annual Ethnos360 MK Retreat this summer! It takes place from June 14th through the 25th. I will be on staff and will be helping to set up and clean up from the retreat as well as being a part of it and spending time with the missionary kids who are attending. This means I get time to connect with missionary kids and hear about their lives. Will you join me in praying that the Lord will use me in this time to be an encouragement to the kids and that they will continue to cling to the Lord.

I am so thankful for those who have partnered with me financially and I am overwhelmed by the amount of people who are keeping me in their prayers. Thank you for partnering with me in prayer! I know that without those who are a part of my team, both in prayer and finance, I could not be moving forward with what the Lord has for me.

If I have not had the opportunity to meet you or interact with you, welcome! My name is Avalon Luse and I am serving with Ethnos360 as a part of MK Care, which serves missionary kids and their families so that the gospel can go out to all people.
I grew up as a missionary kid overseas in Papua New Guinea. Starting when I was one-year old until I graduated high school when I was nineteen. This experience gave me a passion for missions and a heart for missionary kids. If you are interested in more of my story checkout my website using the QR code in the connect with me section.
