The Book of Ephesians and a Podcast

March 17, 2025 by Avalon Luse

What is going on?

This month has been different from past months and it has been stretching me as I have been adjusting to a new routine.

Podcast

I got to be a part of a podcast! It was recorded in January, but was just released on March 3rd.

This podcast covers:

  • Growing up years
  • Testimonies
  • Education
  • Some of the good and the hard of MK life
  • What is home?
  • Involvement in Ethnos360 MK Care

It was awesome for me to be able to discuss these topics with two other missionary kids, Bithyah and Lael. You can find it by looking up Ethnos360 MK Care on the platform you use to listen to podcasts, or use this link for Spotify.

What the Lord has been teaching me

I have been reading through the book of Ephesians in my personal time with the Lord. It has been so encouraging and challenging!! A couple passages that I have been reflecting on over and over again are Ephesians 1:3-8 and Ephesians 1:22-23 (pictured right for computers and below for mobile). Ephesians 1:3-8 talks about God’s love for us and things that He has blessed us with. I am so extremely blessed by the Lord in all aspects of my life! I am so grateful for all He has done for me, and I hope you can be encouraged by this too. In Ephesians 1:22-23, I was reminded that the Church is made complete by Christ. This was such encouragement to me as I know that I will always fall short of perfect; and yet, in and through Christ I will be able to accomplish all that the Lord has called me to.

Looking forward…

I am going to be visiting Iowa for the last weekend in March. If you are interested in connecting, I would love to set up a time to talk while I am in Iowa from March 27th to 31st. Please email me here to set up a time to get together. I am looking for a job, building a community in Wisconsin, and continuing in-person dating.

You know you’re an MK when…

  • Answering the question “Where are you from?” is difficult
  • You feel comfortable in settings with lots of different foreign languages being spoken
  • You have friends from all over the world

Prayer Requests and Praises

Prayer Requests:

  • Wisdom in what to take on and put into my schedule, and what to leave out to be most effective
  • Job hunting
  • For courage to reach out and engage with people I do not know yet
  • Safe travels to Iowa and good connections while I am there

Praise:

  • For friends, mentors, and family who motivate me and help me work through what the next steps are
  • For Christian literature that helps encourage me in my walk with the Lord
  • For God’s Word and the Holy Spirit which encourages me in my daily walk

I am currently at 55% of my monthly support!

I am so thankful for those who have partnered with me financially and I am overwhelmed by the amount of people who are keeping me in their prayers. Thank you for partnering with me in prayer! I know that without those who are a part of my team, both in prayer and finance, I could not be moving forward with what the Lord has for me.

If you are interested in giving, you can scan the QR code or click the button at the bottom of this letter and it will take you to where you can partner financially. If you have questions or would like to know more about what I’m doing, I would love to meet with you! Ways to connect with me through email or phone are at the bottom of the letter and I would love the opportunity to get to share with you what the Lord is doing and how you can be involved!

Other ways you can be involved:

  • Prayer! I appreciate and treasure the fact that I have people praying for me.
  • Opening your home as a place where I can present my ministry. I would love to share with you and others about what the Lord is doing!
  • Interested in my prayer card? I would be happy to send you one, email or text me your mailing address.
  • Invite your friends or family to subscribe to this newsletter. CLICK HERE!
  • If you go to a different church than I do, and they are looking to take on a missionary, reach out to me and I would love to connect with you about that!
  • If you have other ideas I would love to hear them!

I am new here… who are you?

If I have not had the opportunity to meet you or interact with you, welcome! My name is Avalon Luse and I am serving with Ethnos360 as a part of MK Care, which serves missionary kids and their families so that the gospel can go out to all people.

I grew up as a missionary kid overseas in Papua New Guinea. Starting when I was one-year old until I graduated high school when I was nineteen. This experience gave me a passion for missions and a heart for missionary kids. If you are interested in more of my story checkout my website using the QR code in the connect with me section.
