Just before Orlando, the father of 8, taught Roberto his second time he had an urgent appeal for the rest of us on the teaching team. He urged us to remember when we are studying each lesson getting ready to teach, take time to pray for the Spirit’s guiding because we don’t want to teach in our own ability. He reminded his fellow teachers that during the two week long teaching the temptation might be to not study the lesson due to going fishing or going to the garden. “Put this work of teaching as above those things. They are just things for living here and now. Our work is to help Roberto live for forever. Think of this teaching work as most important even though we may want to fish for food. Just like anything good this teaching work will happen through sacrifice and saying ‘no’ to what we want. But in the end it will be worth it”, he remind each of us Bible teachers. It was quite the stirring call to hold rank and not break and run in the face of hard times. Pray for Orlando, Rey, Leoncio and Arnoldo to see this quality become part of them over the years. Thanks.
