So Arizona is no different than we expected – HOT and REMOTE. There are grasshoppers the size of cats here and pigs with so much hair they look like dogs (I hear they are
called Javelina and they are not too friendly). Also, the nearest anything is about 30 minutes…now you may be thinking 30 minutes is nothing but think of how far 30 minutes is with no traffic going about 70mph! Then you add two kids in need of naps to the equation and grocery shopping becomes something a mom can really only handle once every week or two. “Sorry, babe, you’ll have to eat your cereal with water for the next few days until I can muster up the courage to put the kids in the car for an hour only to transfer them to a grocery cart for an hour.” We’ll see…maybe Brent will decide the grocery shopping is a Daddy chore =).
But we are in a lovely trailer that has air conditioning and a dishwasher =). Not too much to complain about really. Our kiddos are sharing a room for the first time. It seems to be going well. Kimi was waking Beau up really early the first few mornings but by the third morning we decided to let her cry it out with him in the room and since then they have been sleeping until about 7:30 in the morning. Nice! I can tell you that after this crazy summer of meetings, presentations, and traveling this Mommy and her kids are ready for some normalcy. We’ll keep you posted as to what our routine looks like as soon as we figure it out. Thanks for your prayers!

My wife and I did grocery shopping together when we first moved to NTM Aviation in Arizona. It was tiring, coming home from working all day in the hanger and then going into town, but there is a lot of dessert for a woman and child to cross alone. And being in town on a border is not the same as middle America. On our first trip to Walmart we accidentally crossed over into Mexico and had to do a U-turn. Before leaving for our overseas assignment we did come to love the high-desert. Hope it doesn’t take long for the same to happen to you.

I think it is time for grocery shopping to be a Daddy chore, he could do it faster and saner alone, and making the list for him a Mommy chore.

Brent & Erica,
What a living testimony you are. Be humble but think great thoughts, greater thoughts than you’ve ever imagined for you lives, your kid’s lives, for your mission in this life in preparation for your real citizenship. You are truley God’s children forever,
Bob
