With just three weeks left of our time here in California, exhaustion is kicking in hard. It manifests itself in different ways – sometimes a sickness that knocks a few of us out for a few days or sometimes a grumpy mood that prefers to find fault in circumstances rather than attitude. I was telling some friends the other night that I think I expected the title of “missionary” to include some super-Christian accessories like the ability to always wear a smile, never argue with your spouse, always be the perfect parent. Apparently, however, instant sanctification is not part of the deal once you become a career missionary. You still carry around the baggage of your humanity – you’re just given less freedom to unpack it. But despite our lack of perfection the Lord is still using us and blessing our efforts. We have been thrilled to invite new friends to the team every week and feel abundantly humbled and overwhelmed by the amount of encouragement and love sent our way. We thank each and every one of you who have been in prayer for us during this crazy time and we ask for continued prayer that we finish this race well.
