December: Projects, Projects, Projects

We started to feel crunched for time as we saw our partners’ home assignment coming closer and began to see how busy we would get when they left. We would be on our own and Brian would be flying, Bailey would take over the bookkeeping and also do the flight following. There were lots of projects at the hangar, on the airplane and in the office that needed attention. Brian and Joel spent some long days and several trips to and from the city 3 hours away, to get these projects accomplished.

New Upholstery: the front seats of the plane were original 1977 upholstery and others looked just as bad. I felt like I needed a has-mat suit to take them apart!

 

Engine Monitors and Tuned Injectors: we got all the sensors for our engine monitor working and installed tuned fuel injectors. This setup saves us nearly $20 per hour in fuel!
Brian worked at improving the way we do things in order to find ways to make us more efficient, effective and also more unified in how we do things. One area he focused on was our flight following procedures. There is still a long way to go on these projects, but they have to be put "on the back burner" while the fight schedule is busy.
