Commercial Check Ride This Thursday

January 31, 2015 by Brian and Bailey Pruett

Learning to fly the helicopter is only half of the story. Brian has been learning to maintain and troubleshoot the helicopter. We are also looking forward to the possibility of getting to do a complete helicopter rebuild this year.

It’s hard to believe that February is already here! Things have been moving along here in Arizona quite quickly and Brian has his check ride (final test) for his commercial helicopter license THIS week!

The check ride will be this Thursday so we would really appreciate your prayers for Brian that he would remember everything he needs to know and be able to perform his best during the flight portion in spite of all the nerves! Once this is completed we can move on to the next step of the helicopter project.

It has been exciting to see Brian progress in his training and to see things starting to come together for sending a helicopter to the Philippines. So much will still need to be done once Brian passes his test – he has more licenses to train for and an advanced helicopter course with NTM Aviation to complete.

In August he will attend factory training from Robinson Helicopters in Torrance, CA. Peppered in the middle of all of this we will be working toward buying and preparing a helicopter to send to the Philippines…so many ways to trust the Lord because none of these things will be possible without His perfect planning and provision.

Brian’s practice sessions often involve landing in confined areas like this river bed. This will be the norm for flying the helicopter on the mission field…except for the snow and tumbleweeds!

That’s so encouraging to see how many people prayed for this check ride. God sure answered their prayers in a great way!

Praying for you, Brian. The most important thing to know on your checkride is that helicopters don’t actually fly; they’re just so ugly the ground repels them!
