From the Butlers:
Here we are at a guesthouse on the coast were NTM needed someone to look after things for two to three months. They asked us knowing we were waiting for partners. We have been here for two months and all the mud has come crystal clear as to why God had us come here. Three weeks into our ministry here a missionary (who is leaving as their work in PNG is finished) came to this guesthouse. Josh talked with him about how expensive it is to build a house in PNG. The conversation came to an end and the missionary went home after his stay here. Later that day Josh gets an email from this same missionary and it says, “Josh and Faye, since we are leaving and don’t know what to do with our house we would like to GIVE it to you”. THEY ARE GIVING THEIR HOUSE TO US! This house is bolted in sections. This makes the house easy to take it down and put it back up. We were so amazed at this because right now we don’t have a whole lot of money saved for our needed house in the tribe, but now a HOUSE IS SUPPLIED.
I, Faye, had the wonderful opportunity to go see it. Josh could not leave the guesthouse unattended, so it was just me, and no kids. We got to the house and it looked bigger then what I was expecting. We measured it out and it is 1200 sq ft. This is bigger then what we were going to build but we are not complaining, and so excited to have the extra space. We are also getting counters, sinks, the toilet, and cabinets from this house. But it doesn’t end there. Another tribal team in a different location was also clearing out a house. This team is selling us plywood, a bathtub, sinks, and some various other things for only100$. This was a big shocker to us. “Why…” you might ask, because one piece of plywood here cost $100, and I think they are giving us 20 sheets. Yes we now know why God wanted us to rest in Him and be willing to serve Him in this coastal location for a few month, because if we didn’t we would have missed out on this overwhelming blessing!
(They are taking down the house in November. Keep them in your prayers)
The praises don’t stop for the Butler family keep reading!
There is still some more exciting news. As some of you know we really would like to go to an island region. But there is one big problem we have no partners. I had a friend that told me there was a single girl looking for partners. So we meet up with her to see if she wanted to partner with us. After meeting she told us that she really didn’t know right now. As I looked at the situation I thought that it probably wouldn’t happen. Well a week ago we got an email from her saying if we are still interested in her as a partner, she would love to be on the team. I am so excited to have a single girl on the team. You ask, “Why?” It will be so nice to have her be in charge of the women ministry. As all of us moms will be homeschooling and trying to get out with the people, it will be great to have one woman who can keep the women’s ministry going in full speed.
Personal note from Faye:
One day as I was spending time with the Lord, I was just praising Him for giving me the strength I needed to get through the day. As I was thinking about this I also started thinking about the Island region people. They don’t have this kind of strength; they don’t have this rest at all. All they have is their sin nature that is never satisfying. And it broke my heart to think of how many people don’t have Christ. The urgency for people to know Christ is so real. I encourage you to live a life that others can see Christ in you. God is so good and so many people don’t even know it.
