Location Location Location! It’s amazing, we are staying on a mountain ridge surrounded by other mountain ridges close by. It’s very very beautiful. When I get a chance to get a good picture of the landscape I will! We are learning all the ways of tribal life. We have to watch our batteries that charge by the sun carefully so we don’t run them down to low. It is an amazing system here in the house. It runs our 12volt power as well as 240v power if we need it. This is how we have power in our house. We have solar panels and tank that heat our hot water too. In case we do not have enough consistant sun, there is also a generator here that we can use to charge up our batteries. All our water we use in the house comes from the rain water that is collected into a big tank.
We have enjoyed getting to know the veteran missionary couple who live next door to us. They have worked with the people group here for a very very long time. Shara and the boys are learning the ropes of homeschooling and if all goes well, they all get afternoon time out and about with the people. Homeschooling has been going better each day, so we are thankful. Bryan is trying to spend time out with the people here as well. Corbyn is so excited as he gets to take care of a young German Shepherd. He can’t wait to play and feed her.
We will continue to update you all as we go along. Thanks for your prayers as we have plenty of weeks left here on top of this mountain ridge. Enjoy the pictures!
We drove for 4 hours on pothole filled roads! I think the trip seems shorter because I was busy using all my muscles with each bump! We came to our turn off road with only about 20 minutes to go and poor Corbyn while sleeping threw up on daddy’s lap! After that he was good to go.
After the first day Bryan got right out and found someone to take him around and show him all the sites of the area! This man in the picture has been a bible teacher and a translation helper for the veteran missionaries here!
Can you pick out the white boys? We enjoyed having all these kids come with us for an afternoon hike. Sometimes it’s the kids who talk clearer than the adults.
The boys are always making people laugh. They attract a lot of attention and we would say they are still trying to get use to that. Keep them in your prayers!
One last picture of our walk in the mountains. I had to get into one shot!
