The past two days here at the Missions Training Center was the field fair. Representatives from many of New Tribes Mission’s fields came to the campus and shared information, stories, and needs from their fields. It was a great time of fellowship, of hearing entertaining and powerful stories (some which I hope to eventually share with you) and of looking at where we might be going.
As of right now, we have no clue of what part of the world we’ll be going after finishing the training. We originally were interested in central Asia but no longer. NTM is not starting any new works in central Asia as they’re working on finishing existing works and then phasing out.
Maggie and I are interested in being part of a new work going to a new tribe and doing church planting. We could do this in Mexico, all over South America, Africa, Papau New Guinea, Philippines, and others. The needs are great in all these areas.
All these areas, and more, have needs for Church planters, but they also need people with ‘real’ skills. They need teachers, mechanics, administrators, business people, dorm parents, pilots, and so much more.
Pray for us as we decide on a field in the next year.
Pray that God would raise up people to fill all the needs in the many different countries NTM is in.
Pray and see if God would use you to fill a need.
