The one pic is of our afternoon fun (coming down the hill on a little wooden cart), and the other of a couple Pal guys being goofy.
My Saturday plan: 1 – Sleep in. 2 – Lie around half the morning. 3 – Do an hour or two of language study. 4 – Fix Maisie’s bed. 5 – Clean up and organize the entry way. 6 – Write emails. 7 – Family time.
How my Saturday actually went. First, I did sleep in a little bit and I think that little bit gave me just what I needed to get through the day. As I was beginning step #2 (see above), my coworker came with news of a very sick tribal boy. We pretty much ran down the mountain to check on the boy. We found a comatose child who hadn’t eaten or drank anything in a couple days. We did what we could for him (not much) and then began the arduous hike back up the mountain. When we arrived home (about noon) we found a group of people waiting for us. This group had walked four hours to come and see us and bring their requests before us. They’re desiring a missionary to come and live with them, and we shared that we too desire to see missionaries in their villages, but regretfully we had to inform them that there is little we can do at this point. It was mid-afternoon when we finished talking with this group and after a short play time outside with the kids I went with my coworker to check on the sick boy again. Little had changed with the boy and we fear he will not live much longer. After checking on the boy we ate supper and then our family went down to the Claasen’s house and snacked and gamed it up. After that it was home and bed.
Please pray for this boy. His only option for getting to a doctor is an aid post a four hour hike away, but the family has chosen not to take him. Also, pray for wisdom for us when faced with these difficult circumstances.
