Day 8

October 22, 2012 by Chris and Maggie Hostetter

Well, the weather is still not cooperating. We would really appreciate your prayers for some sunshine tomorrow. The roof is all covered except the roof cap and one edge. We can’t get up there and finish it off until the tin is dry enough to walk on. The inside of our house has been wet continuously now for about three days and it’s starting to take its toll on the plywood. Also, Travis, Bill, Bryan, and Brian could not get out today as the helicopter could not make it in. Tomorrow the pilot will try again and if the weather is good these four guys will get to go home to their families and we’ll have five new faces in here for the next 6 days.

Lastly, I want to mention our finances. We received the bill for the helicopter shuttles hauling all our lumber and personal stuff into Pal. The bill was just over $7,000. Right now we do not have the money for this. We’d appreciate your prayers and support for us to come through this house-building journey with zero debt to New Tribes.

Thank you!

The picture of the helicopter coming through the clouds above the chopper pad was not from today. It was taken by Travis during all the shuttles early last week.
