Day 9

October 23, 2012 by Chris and Maggie Hostetter

Now we’re rolling again. We awoke to the sun shining (thanks for praying) and we went right up on the roof and finished it off. Shortly thereafter the helicopter showed up with reinforcements and (from left to right) Bill, Bryan, Travis, and Brian got to return home to their families. Solar panels went up on our roof today, our water tank was rolled up the hill and put in place, the stairs to the loft were finished, some walls were paneled, and the wiring is half done. I’d say it was a good day.

The process of rolling the water tank up the hill was probably the most entertaining event of the day but the most exciting moment was the snake. I don’t know where it slithered out of but suddenly three Pal guys were shouting “myam” (snake). The first thing I asked was “is it poisonous?” for which the reply was “yes”. We chucked some big rocks on it and then we beat it with sticks and that was that.

Five more days to get as much done as we can, then the work team leaves and my family comes.
