Day 13

October 27, 2012 by Chris and Maggie Hostetter

Let it rain, let it rain! We had a good rain shower today and now there’s maybe 8 inches of water sitting in our tank. We have another day before we’ll start using that water and another good rain shower tomorrow should put us in pretty good shape. This time of year it rains quite a bit so it shouldn’t be a problem, but I do like long hot showers.

We’re missing a couple connections for our gas lines and for our kitchen sink. Pray that the right pieces come in on Monday and that everything will work great. We’re not able to test our stove and water heater ahead of time so pray that dinner time and bath time Monday night doesn’t turn into a trial on patience and contentment.

The doors, knobs, and locks were finished today, and Pete got started on window shutters. The Pal guys have been digging the hole for our sewage and I think that is complete now. We’ll cover it up tomorrow. Willard did an awesome job of cleaning up our oven this afternoon and fixing some parts on it. Josh and Bill finished the last bit of plumbing and put up the shower board around the shower. Mike is still working away on cabinets and shelves. I began cleaning parts of the house today getting it ready for the fam’s arrival on Monday. The master bedroom and the girl’s bedroom are finished and ready to be furnished, as well as the entire loft. Tomorrow I’ll continue cleaning and also start (and hopefully finish) hauling all our personal stuff up to the house.
